After 4 years in the United States Air Force, Attorney Stewart attended Framingham State University and graduated cum laude in 1980. He was awarded membership in Phi Alpha Theta, a history honor society. Attorney Stewart then attended Western New England University School of Law, and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1983.
Walter began his career as a real estate attorney but by 1991 his primary area of practice transitioned to debt collections. He has served many of the leading doctors and dentists of Hampden County since that time.
He was also active in Ludlow politics with terms on the Personnel Board, Board of Assessors, the School Committee and as member of the Council on Aging. Attorney Stewart spent over 20 years in service to the Ludlow Boys and Girls Club both as a Cooperator and as a member of the Board of Directors. He was also a founding member of the Friends of the Hampden County Law Library.
Walter was recently named an honorary member of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department. He now resides in Auburn, Massachusetts, with his life partner, Ms. Patricia Carbee.
