Mr. Herrick retired from public service with New York State in 2005 after a 35 year career with the NYS Comptroller’s Office and the NYS Court System. Mr. Herrick was Associate Director of Research in the Labor Relations Office of the Office of Court Administration. Mr. Herrick attended The Russell Sage College Albany Campus, The University at Albany and took extensive coursework at the Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations New York City Campus. Mr. Herrick negotiated numerous employment contracts with the Unions representing Court Employees as Lead Negotiator, and First Chair. He received the prestigious Sergeant Stewart Stills Award from the NYS Court Officers Association in 2006 for his work with the union which recognized his fairness and openness in the negotiating process. While with the NYS Court System he was agency Chair of the State Employee Federated Appeal which raised tens of thousands for local and national charities.
Mr. Herrick, upon moving to Westfield in 2005, has been active in the community. He is a Past-President of the Westfield Rotary Club where he also served as Treasurer, Secretary and a Board of Directors Member. He and his wife Josie were twice named Co-Chairs of the Noble Hospital Ball. He, along with his wife Josie, was a founder and director of the Westfield Woman’s Club Foundation and a Corporator of the Westfield Athenaeum. He appeared in several productions of the Westfield Theater Department.
As noted above, Mr. Herrick retired in 2005 to assist his son in the establishment of his own law offices. This plan came to fruition in 2006 when the Law Offices of Jason R. Herrick, P.C. was established at its current location at 10 School Street, Westfield, MA. Mr. Herrick acts as Office Manager assisting with the maintenance of the office account ledgers, and in the hiring process of office staff.
Mr. Herrick and his wife Josephine M. Herrick reside in Jupiter, Florida and Westfield, MA.
